Alex

Receptionist
I have worked with various animals and dogs of all sizes and breeds since 2022. I specialize in canine behavior, socialization, and urban safety. Having worked as a lead dog walker, I'm skilled at managing diverse breeds, implementing positive reinforcement, as well as structuring personalized wellness and nutrition routines. Combining my love for animals with a background in clinical safety and operations, I focus on providing a reliable, secure, and enriching environment for every dog in my care.
Whiskey - a long-haired calico cat. He is lazy, loves pets, and will always show up when food is involved. He is super sweet and hardly ever gets into anything mischievous.

Jamie - a boxer / pit bull mix). She was my childhood dog. Sadly she passed away last year, but she's always worth mentioning. She was quite the character. Always loving, high energy, and kept you on your toes. She loved belly rubs, and was always fond of meeting new people.
While I genuinely love working with all breeds. I confess I'm an absolute softy for Rottweilers, pit bulls, and other breeds often unfairly labeled as "aggressive". In my experience, they are almost always the sweetest, most sensitive couch potatoes who just want to lean on you for affection.
Outside of my animal work, I love exploring the city on two wheels, hanging out with friends, and soaking up local culture. I'm a big fan of hitting up museums and art shows, and street festivals on my days off. Always looking for a bit of creative inspiration or new neighborhood spot to discover. I'm also rather fond of cooking, I'm always on the lookout for new recipes.
Looking ahead, my ultimate goal would probably be to stay in animal care. specifically aiming to become a licensed veterinary technician. I'm driven to combine my hands-on animal behavior expertise with professional veterinary medicine. This will help me provide top-tier medical care, and advocacy for animals when they need it most.
I'm a big gamer. I love all the classics and have been super excited for some continuations of said classics in recent years. I also am very keen on cooking. Not only for myself, but I love to host dinner parties when I can. So sometimes I feel like a mad scientist trying new flavors and expanding my skills in the kitchen. I also love traveling. I'm lucky to have been able to go out of the country on multiple occasions, and when I can I hope to continue that tradition, and expand my love for culture further.
I graduated from Lane Tech High School. I then went on to complete Chicago Police and Fire Training Academy (CPFTA). I also completed a course for cyber security through Full Stack Academy at UIC. Ultimately I landed in pet care, combining my interest in public service and love for challenging fast-paced environments and animals.
In 2013, I was cast for a documentary about Chicago Public Schools. I was one of the very few students at the time they picked. So it felt special, and to this day I still get checks every so often for it.
